Llandaff doesn't have its own railway station, but Waun-gron Park and Fairwater stations on the City Line are a short drive or bus ride away, both running direct into Cardiff Central — a fifteen-minute walk or short taxi from Queen Street and St David's. Danescourt station, just beyond Llandaff to the west, is another option on the same line for anyone happy to combine a short drive with a train into the centre.

Bus services run fairly frequently along Cathedral Road and Cardiff Road into the city centre, dropping close to Queen Street and the top of St David's — genuinely one of the more straightforward routes for anyone who'd rather not drive into town and negotiate the multi-storeys.

For anyone up for a longer approach, the Taff Trail runs almost the whole way from Llandaff into the city centre, and a fair number of patients cycle or walk it, particularly in better weather — it's flat, mostly traffic-free, and comes out close to Cardiff Castle, a short walk from Queen Street. Nextbike docking points are also dotted around Llandaff and the city centre for anyone without their own bike.
